Community Building for GSEA Competition & EO Greece

GSEA stands for Global Student Entrepreneur Awards. This is a global competition for student entrepreneurs organized by the famous Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) and its local chapters worldwide.
The Challenge
EO Greece approached Business Pathways with the objective of establishing GSEA as a prominent student entrepreneurs competition in Greece. They sought to articulate their vision to our team, aiming to differentiate GSEA from other similar competitions in the country.
The primary goals were to attract a larger pool of applicants, generate widespread interest, and cultivate a vibrant community of Greek student entrepreneurs united by EO's mission.
The Approach
Having thoroughly comprehended the needs and objectives of our esteemed partner, our team initiated the formulation of a meticulous strategic plan. The plan aimed to identify the optimal candidate persona, concentrate efforts on the most effective communication medium, and develop a complete communication plan to ensure success.
To discern the perfect candidate, we facilitated a workshop involving the GSEA organizing committee in Greece, former participants, and previous winners of the competition. This workshop enabled us to precisely determine the attributes of the ideal candidates, their interests and aspirations, challenges and concerns, and the most effective approaches to engage with them.
Consequently, our strategy harmoniously aligned with our esteemed partner and garnered support from all stakeholders. This alignment was fortified by thorough competition research and our own innovative ideas for fostering a vibrant community. Through these efforts, we aimed to emphasize the remarkable benefits of the competition and provide supplementary value to new participants.
The Solution
Based on the aforementioned approach, it was determined that establishing a community for GSEA in Greece would be most effectively achieved through the utilization of Linkedin. This platform was deemed suitable due to its alignment with the profile of our stakeholders and the goals of our partner.
In addition to creating the Linkedin page for the GSEA competition in Greece, our team proposed several ideas to further fortify the GSEA community. One such suggestion involved implementing a mentoring initiative, fostering a connection between former winners and new applicants, thereby providing valuable guidance and support.
The Execution
Following a comprehensive analysis of the workshop findings, our team developed a well-defined content plan for the subsequent months. This plan encompassed clear objectives and specific goals, all carefully aligned with the workshop outcomes.
Drawing upon this plan, our team diligently created a creative content calendar that adhered to our partner's branding guidelines, ensuring consistency and coherence throughout.
The Results
In the initial two months, we achieved an impressive nearly threefold increase in the number of competition applications, along with a twofold growth in organic followers. Our team also consistently published captivating content that resonated with the target audience.
The impact of our efforts becomes evident when considering the remarkable growth in engagement metrics. Within the first six months, we observed a staggering 1150% surge in post reactions, a substantial 700% rise in comments, and a notable 170% increase in reposts. These figures unequivocally demonstrate the effectiveness of our strategies and the success of our engagement initiatives.
